The best of Netflix Kids - that adults will enjoy too!

Stuck for what to watch with the kids that you'll love too? There are so many great Netflix titles that parents and children alike will adore, so we've put together a list of 5 of the best movies and series for the whole family!


1. The Little Prince (2015, ages 10+)

With an astounding critics rating of 93%, The Little Prince is an animated movie from the director of Kung-Fu Panda based on a novella by French aristocrat Antoine de Saint-Exupery. This animated adaptation tells the story of an overscheduled young girl, who takes time to slow down and befriends the old man next door. With stunning animation and a beautiful soundtrack, The Little Prince demonstrates empathy, integrity and compassion, as well as the idea that it is important to truly enjoy your life.


2. Ask The StoryBots (2016-2019, ages 3+)

For the little ones, you can’t go past the Netflix original series, Ask The StoryBots. This fun educational series is filled with fun, charm, and special guests that will delight children and keep you looking over to watch too. Each episode explores the answer to a different question, like ‘How do computers work?’ and ‘Why do people look different?’, with adorable animation, live-action, claymation and puppet scenes.


3. The Land Before Time (1988, ages 5+)

This all-time classic children’s movie is still one we think of fondly today, and is a

must-watch for kids and adults alike. Beautifully animated, the Land Before Time follows the journey of orphaned dinosaurs who find themselves thrown together when their world changes, and must now try to find the famed Great Valley.


Exploring themes of trust, teamwork, and friendship with unforgettable characters and plenty of laughs, this is sure to entertain the whole family.


4. Cheer (2019, ages 13+)

For older children, you can’t go past Cheer, which is a 6 part docuseries about an American junior college cheerleading team. While it may sound frivolous at first, the documentary navigates many complex issues - from self esteem and mental fortitude to purpose and belonging - in a delicate, motivating, and downright inspiring way.

The cheerleaders of the Navarro Cheer Team come from vast backgrounds, both socioeconomic and cultural, and take us on a journey not just to their final competition, but to becoming strong both as a team and individuals.


You will laugh, you will cry, and you will watch some absolutely incredible stunts but most importantly, your children will learn one of the most important lessons they can: never give up on anyone, especially yourself.


5. Over The Hedge (2007, ages 5+)

Children (and adults) of all ages will love this classic animated comedy. It is filled with loveable animal characters, centering on a shy turtle named Verne and a mischievous and outgoing Racoon named RJ. The film has jokes for both kids and their parents, making it an engaging and colourful experience from start to finish - perfect for lighthearted, entertaining viewing.
